At LA Piano Lessons, I focus on fostering a warm, patient learning environment where you can learn the music that excites you most. Over 20 years I’ve developed time tested teaching methods to provide my students with a deep foundation in music theory, playing technique, and music reading in a wide range of classical, jazz, and pop styles.

My students over the years have come from a wide range of musical backgrounds, from complete beginners, to students who are returning to their instruments after years away, to advanced performers looking to deepen their skills. Anyone can learn!

For Kids and Adults

People of all ages can benefit from music lessons. For younger students, we’ll focus on building a strong foundation for a lifetime of musical enjoyment. Adults and older beginners can expect to gain a deep understanding of musical fundamentals. It’s never too late to start learning.

Learn The Music You Love

Every student has unique musical tastes and goals, and an overly strict curriculum can become stale. That’s why I teach a wide range of musical styles, from classical to jazz to pop music and everything in between. I know that the key to quick learning is to engage with your favorite music, and together we’ll focus on learning the music that matters to you most. Many of my adolescent students come to me after growing tired of strict teaching methods, and I know how to rekindle a interest in the instrument for those students.

Meet Your Instructor

Robert Allaire is a composer, pianist, and accordionist with over 20 years experience educating students of all ages both in the classroom and in private music settings. He began playing piano at age 12 and by age 14 was accompanying high school choirs at concerts and festivals. He went on to study piano performance and music composition at California State University, Fresno, and received a master’s in music composition from the prestigious California Institute of the Arts. As a composer, Robert’s work has been performed across the United States and appeared in numerous film and television productions for FX, AMC, MGM, and Sony on franchises including Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul, American Horror Story, Stargate, and more.
